Design studio website · prices and brief

A design studio: a site that names its prices and its contract terms

A website for a design studio. The unusual part is that the studio openly writes the price of every service, how long it takes, and exactly what will be in the contract. Instead of “price on request” there are six items with prices and deadlines, and at the bottom a brief that is enough to start on an estimate.

6 services
with a price and a lead time
from a landing page to a design system
the contract terms
brought out onto the page
rights, payment, penalties, the number of revisions
a brief on the site
instead of back-and-forth messages
the answers arrive already in order
What's inside

Numbers and terms first,
the conversation after.

Studios usually hide their prices, and the client spends a month figuring out the range. This site is built the other way around.

  • Prices for six servicesA landing page, a corporate site, a store, a brand identity, a design system, follow-up work. Each one with a price and a lead time.
  • Work with a switchFour clients you switch between at the top. For each one you can see what exactly was done and what came out of it.
  • Six stages of the workFrom the brief to a month of support after launch. You can see where the client pays and where they can stop.
  • What the contract saysRights pass to the client, payment by stages, the penalty for delay runs both ways, the number of revisions is given as a number. The things people usually find out after the fact.
  • The briefA form with the questions an estimate actually needs. Instead of “tell us about your project”.
  • Awkward questions“Why so expensive, someone did it for me three times cheaper” — and a straight answer. People ask these anyway, better to answer first.
How it looks

The screenshots are taken
from the live site.

First screen

The mark in the middle is built from five shapes. Switch the client and the same shapes assemble into a different mark. The studio shows how it thinks live, instead of describing it in words.

Services and prices

Six rows: which service, what is included, what it costs and how long it takes. The date the prices are current as of is written next to them.

On a phone

On a narrow screen the price table becomes a column of cards, and the price stays in sight. The brief can be filled in from a phone just as well as from a laptop.

What it delivered

An open price does not filter out clients,
it filters out conversations that end in nothing.

Whoever writes has already accepted the price

The price of every service stands on the page. Only the people it suits get as far as a conversation.

The contract terms are known in advance

Rights, payment by stages and the number of revisions, given as a number. The longest arguments in design are about exactly this — here they are over before the work starts.

The brief does half of the first meeting

A client arrives with a filled-in brief instead of “I want something modern”.

In the first year after launch, twice as many inquiries reach a contract.

We can do the same for your studio or agency

If people write to you every day asking “how much does a website cost” and you answer the same thing every time, that answer can go on a page. Write and tell us what your services are.
